Yes, I completely agree with the ...Pastor Spencer,

Yes, I completely agree with the Headship Principle. However, there is also a principle of obedience to ruling authority. Once the 19th Amendment was duly ratified, it became binding on all citizens, especially Christians.

Christians cheerfully obey bad laws as well as good ones. Until 19th Amendment is overturned, we must obey it. Disobediance or grudging acceptance of a power ordained by God is not an option.

Like Barak, American men showed a lack of faith and trust in God by abandoning the Headship Principle of scripture in favor of a radical Anti-Christian feminist agenda. Insofar as government is concerned, men do not have authority over their women just as Barak did not authority over Deborah when Barak abandoned his post.

Christians were successful in overturning the evil 18th Amendment that banned alcohol (a gift of God). All Christians must now strive to overturn the evil 19th Amendment and return America to a Headship Principle of government. However, appealing to an authority over females that does not currently exist to achieve this worthy goal is not an option.

Applying the Headship Principle to church government, women must not have authority over men. However, suppose a By-law is passed which grants women voting authority over men. Christian members have two options: 1. Resign or 2. Cheerfully obey the evil By-law while, simultaneously, working to overturn it. Disobeying the spirit of the evil By-law by seeking control over female votes is not an option.Daniel Gormannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881617320676906596.post-22568799634536593252011-05-05T06:35:58.509-07:002011-05-05T06:35:58.509-07:00Daniel,
If you'll read the account in Judges...Daniel,

If you'll read the account in Judges carefully, I believe you will find that Barak did not simply "surrender his office." Rather, he showed lack of faith and trust in God and abject cowardice in the face of the enemy. Deborah arose and took his place out of necessity. Her courage was rewarded by God, which is always His right to do, whether we think it "fits" or not.

Once again, there are many "cases of casuistry" that can and often are brought up with regard to the Headship Principle and the Order of Creation. I maintain that the principle itself is God's will for all people of all times and in all places.

However, due to our sinful nature, we may not always be able to apply this principle correctly or consistently. But that does not abrogate the principle or make God's will in this matter any less wise or beneficial for us. Let us strive to comprehend it accurately and apply it properly to the best of the ability God gives us.

Pastor SpencerIntrepid Lutheranshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05867580862562801804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881617320676906596.post-77061840870716491672011-05-04T21:51:37.113-07:002011-05-04T21:51:37.113-07:00If the Headship Principle universally applies to g...If the Headship Principle universally applies to government, why did God appoint Deborah to judge Israel? Barak surrendered his military office and obeyed the commands of a woman. Were the children of Israel in rebellion against God when they obeyed her commands? If so, why did God grant them a great victory?

God's will is that all American Christians obey the U.S. Constitution. Subverting the intent of the Constitution is rebellion against God. When American men voted to end male-only suffrage (19th Amendment), they surrendered the Headship of men within the civic arena. Women are not bound to obey their husbands, brothers, or fathers when they exercise the voting franchise granted them by the Constitution.Daniel Gormannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881617320676906596.post-42623377599408283292011-05-04T19:00:19.803-07:002011-05-04T19:00:19.803-07:00Hello Daniel,
Thank you for your comment.
I wo...Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your comment.

I would make two points in reply. First, I would certainly hope no Christian husband has to "order" his wife to do or not do anything. That does not speak well of the marriage relationship in Christ. Neither do I recommend such here. Second, however, having said that, there is also the matter of "obeying God rather than men." The U.S. Constitution most certainly does not supersede God's will.

At this point a myriad of examples and situations could be brought up in this regard. Each would need to be handled within its own context. For now, I will simply let the principle stand as stated.

Pastor SpencerIntrepid Lutheranshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05867580862562801804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6881617320676906596.post-66920855201204110652011-05-04T02:56:03.022-07:002011-05-04T02:56:03.022-07:00Pastor Steven D. However, there can be many God-pleasing ways for believers to respect the laws of the land, and also keep God's will in this regard. Still, it should go without saying that, at the very least, a believing wife who understands the teaching of the Order of Creation will endeavor not to cancel out the vote of her husband, and thus overrule his headship."

The power ordained by God (i.e., the U. S. Constitution) has decreed that the right to vote shall not be denied on account of sex. A husband who orders his wife to vote or not vote according to the husband's wishes is in rebellion against the power ordained by God. "Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." Romans 13:2.Daniel Gormannoreply@blogger.com
